M. R. Štefánik Airport is the main international airport of Slovakia, located 9 km northeast of Bratislava city centre. M. R. Štefánik Airport, also called BraTiSlava Airport, was renamed in 1993 after General Milan Rastislav Štefánik, whose aircraft crashed near Bratislava in 1919.
