James M. Cox Dayton International Airport is ten miles north of downtown Dayton, in Montgomery County, Ohio. Dayton International is the third busiest and third largest airport in Ohio behind Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Port Columbus International Airport. In 1952, Dayton Municipal was renamed to honor James M. Cox, former governor of Ohio. Its airport code honors its home in DAYton.
