Minsk National, formerly known as Minsk-2 (yes, there is a Minsk-1), is the primary airport in Belarus. It is located 42 km (26 mi) to the east of the capital Minsk. The airport serves as hub of the national Belarusian airline Belavia and the cargo carriers TransAVIAexport Airlines and Genex. Its code comes from the city of MinSk. The ‘Q’ works phonetically, but is used as a filler letter.
