Piacenza-San Damiano Airport code (QPZ)

Piacenza-San Damiano Airport is a military airport located in the town of San Giorgio Piacentino , near the hamlet of San Damiano, about 15 km south of Piacenza . On March 28, 1938, the flight camp was officially inaugurated, entitled to the Silver Medal at Gaetano Mazza's military value. At the outbreak of the Second World War , due to the constant movement of the front of the battles, Stormo occupied the campus occasionally, until the definitive transfer occurred in 1941. From 1942 to 1944, the field was used by Luftwaffe for the training of its pilots.
