South Bend International Airport is three miles northwest of South Bend, in St. Joseph County, Indiana, United States. Formerly South Bend Regional Airport, it is the state's third busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic. Opened in 1933 as Bendix Field, South Bend International was once called Michiana Regional (a combination of Michigan and Indiana). Its airport code honors its home in South BeNd.
