Tulsa International Airport is a civil-military airport 8 km northeast of downtown Tulsa, in Tulsa County, Oklahoma. Renamed ‘International’ in 1963, TULsa Municipal Airport opened in 1928 and just two years later was the busiest airport in the world, outpacing London, Berlin, and Paris. The airport is the global maintenance headquarters for American Airlines.[
